“Catherine Rose was my Nana and she taught me everything I know about painting. We began with watercolor but she introduced my first love of oil painting to me at age 12. She never “babysat me” she hosted painting lessons. I set up my easel right next to hers and watched in amazement how her hands and her brush would waltz across the canvas. We watched Bob Ross and ate powdered donuts. I’d tell her my secrets and we’d hide them in paintings. Every inch of her dramatic and eccentric personality resulted in gorgeous sunsets over oceans and the prettiest of rose petals. If it wasn’t for Nana, I’m not sure who I’d be today. We share a love of golden brass trinkets and animal print. A love for the extravagant and to revel in the drama. We are lovers of poetry, fine wine and a fabulous party. We share so much more than our name and because she shared her love of art with me, it is my privilege and my gift to share it with all of you. I am beyond grateful for my time with her and I cherish every moment we had. With every painting I create there is a piece of her, thank you for allowing her spirit to live through me.”

“If I were a painter
I would paint my reverie
If that's the only way for you to be with me
We'd be there together
Just like we used to be
Underneath the swirling skies for all to see
And I'm dreaming of a place
Where I could see your face
And I think my brush would take me there
But only…”

In honor of my mother, Evelyn Viscardi, I offer a 10% discount to all teachers tying the knot. I have seen first hand the toll this pandemic took on all teachers in our education system. It is my honor to say thank you to these courageous educators for showing up every day for our youth.
